The standards this work is built to
Aerotier is a new manufacturer. This sheet states the workmanship standards the work is built to, what is held today, and what is being pursued — in that order, and without rounding any of it up.
Workmanship standards
Interconnect work is judged against published, industry-wide acceptance criteria rather than in-house opinion. These are the criteria Aerotier builds and inspects to.

Building and inspecting to a published standard is a statement about acceptance criteria. It is not a claim of certification to that standard, and nothing on this site should be read as one. Section 3.0 sets out exactly what is held.
How quality is run

The revision in build is the revision you released
Drawings, wire lists and their revision state are controlled. A superseded revision is closed out so it cannot remain in build on a bench somewhere.

Records are captured at the step, not at shipment
Material lot, process step, operator and inspection result are recorded against the individual serial as it is built. A record written up at the end describes what someone remembers.

A nonconformance is raised, not absorbed
Work that does not meet the acceptance criteria is documented, segregated and dispositioned. Where it affects something already delivered, you hear it from us first.

Measurement equipment is calibrated and in date
Crimp tooling, pull testers and electrical test equipment are calibrated on schedule, with the calibration state recorded against the results they produced.

Material comes from the source your drawing allows
Connectors, contacts and wire are procured to the approved sources on your drawing, with certificates of conformance retained against the lot.
What is held today — stated plainly
Current as of this sheet’s revision date. If you are qualifying Aerotier as a supplier, this is the section you need, and we would rather you had it now than after a site audit.
Controlled technical data
Export control is not paperwork that catches up with you later. Receiving controlled technical data without the registration to hold it is the violation — it happens at the moment of receipt, and no amount of registering afterwards undoes it.
So the rule here is a refusal at the door rather than an intention to sort it out:
- Do not send ITAR-controlled technical data, drawings or specifications to Aerotier at this time. It will be declined.
- If a package is export controlled, or you are unsure whether it is, tell us before you send anything and we will tell you plainly whether we can receive it.
- Where a drawing carries a distribution statement or export control notice, treat that notice as governing regardless of anything said in a call or an email.
- Defense work will be quoted once the registrations that work requires are in place, and not before.
Because the alternative is a supplier who quietly accepts a controlled package to win a job and creates a disclosure for the customer who sent it. A supplier’s export-control answer tells you as much about them as its first-article report does.
